Alvena Duncan of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully in her hometown on June 25, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on March 20, 1958, in Savannah, Alvena spent her entire life surrounded by the familiar sights, sounds, and community of the city she called home. Throughout her years, Alvena exemplified the values of kindness, dignity, and quiet perseverance. Her presence touched those around her, and she will be remembered for the gentle strength she exhibited through life’s varied seasons. As one who spent her beginnings and final days in Savannah, Alvena’s life is a testament to enduring connection with her roots. She forged her path while remaining steadfastly tied to the community and place dearest to her heart. Though we mourn the loss of Alvena Duncan, her memory remains deeply cherished. At this time, we pause to reflect on the mark she left on those fortunate to have known her and the lasting impact of her life. Viewing will be held on Thursday July 9, 2026, from 4pm to 6pm in the Adams Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday July 10, 2026, 11am in the Adams Chapel.
