A Life Story
Beverly Ann Edwards, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 2nd, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on Tuesday, May 24th, 1938, in Metter, Georgia, Beverly later made her home in Bloomingdale, Georgia, where she lived a life full of love, dedication, and joy. Beverly dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker. Her home was a place of warmth and togetherness, where she shared delicious Sunday dinners with family and friends, creating lasting memories for all. She also proudly contributed to the community through her work with Coastal Moving and Storage Company and her time as a Teacher’s Aide at Bartlett Middle School. A woman of many talents, Beverly enjoyed bowling, dancing, making pottery, and gardening. Her green thumb was well-known, and she took great pride in nurturing both her plants and her family. She was also a cherished member of the Order of the Eastern Star, reflecting her lifelong commitment to fellowship and community service. Beverly was preceded in death by her loving parents, Willie Edward Cannady and Mildred Johnson Cannady; her devoted husband of 61 years, Charles G. Edwards, Jr. (C.G.); and her dear son, Kevin Edwards, sister, Barbara Denney and brother, Kenneth Cannady. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Ann Moore and her husband Gary; daughter-in-law, Vickie Edwards; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Barney Cannady and his wife Snookie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. A graveside service to honor Beverly’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 7th, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia, with Pastor Nick Pumfrey officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Savannah, Inc, 1352 Eisenhower Dr, Savannah, GA 31406, in appreciation for their compassionate care.
