A Life Story

It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Brenda Faye Audesey DeWert, 78 years old, at her home in Rincon, Georgia on February 3, 2025.She is preceded in death by her loving husband (Allen Wayne) of almost 58 years.Brenda is survived by her 3 daughters, Regina (Cap) Capdepon of Beaufort, SC; Angela (Bennie) Thain of Midville, GA; and Amber (Steve) Waters of Rincon, GA, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, her brother Walter (Verlina) Audesey of Savannah, GA, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.Brenda will be remembered as a woman of faith, love, strength, compassion, and resilience. She was a hairdresser in her early years of marriage and then lovingly became a homemaker and mother, raising her 3 strong and confident daughters, and being a pillar of strength and comfort to her many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Brenda was a blessing to her family as well as so many friends, always opening her heart and home to anyone in need. Anyone that knew her knew that she loved to care for her family and friends by cooking them a great meal, caring for their needs, or being that comforting person to listen and give guidance. Many times, you would find her in the kitchen with her apron on or tending her flowers. She also had a big heart for the animals that passed through, whether it be a pet or the bird or squirrel that needed a snack.Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025, between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA. A private service will be held in the cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to your local animal shelter in her honor. The family also asks that you find a way to "pay it forward" with an act of kindness or kind word to someone.
