    A Life Story

    Danny Craven, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2026, in Port Wentworth, Georgia. Born in Alma, Georgia, on January 30, 1952, Danny led a life marked by dedication, service, and love for his community and family. Danny is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Barbara McNeal Craven; his son, William Daniel Craven (Cathy Cannon); his daughter, Allison Renee Craven; and his cherished granddaughters, Lexi and Lani Craven. He also leaves behind a treasured great-grandson, Greyson; his loving sisters, Samantha (and her husband Joel Carter) and Mary Sue Carter, as well as three stepsiblings, Judy McAlhaney, Mary Strickland, James Conner (and his wife Brenda), numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Claudette Craven (Conner). A retired paramedic, Danny dedicated many years to serving the community through his work with MedStar. He was also passionate about his role as a volunteer firefighter with the Port Wentworth Fire Department. His dedication extended into his spiritual life as a member of Bonnybridge Baptist Church, where he was known for his deep faith and love for the Lord. Family and friends are invited to honor his life and legacy during a visitation at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel in Garden City, Georgia, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Additional visitation will take place at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church in Baxley, Georgia, on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, immediately preceding his funeral service at 2:00 pm at the same church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel, located at 2794 US Highway 80 West, Garden City, Georgia, 31408.
