A Life Story
Brent Derwin Moore March 25, 1958 – October 1, 2026 Guyton — Mr. Brent Derwin Moore, 68, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Brown’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Statesboro, Georgia. In his youth, Derwin was an avid outdoorsman. More recently, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his three dogs, Yogi, Shorty, and Hoss, whom he loved dearly. He was a lifelong member of Springfield Baptist Church. Derwin was preceded in death by his only child, Brent Derwin Moore Jr.; his mother, Lorraine Moore; his father, John Moore; and his sister, Elaine Leonard. Survivors include his sister, Brenda Parrish (Glenn) of Guyton; his brothers, Steve Moore of Hernando, Florida, Kevin Moore (Sandy) of Statesboro, Kenny Moore (Paula) of Clyo, and Stan Moore (Amy) of Rincon; many cousins including, Donnie Moore of Guyton, who was also a caregiver; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Derwin was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by us all. Special thanks to the staff of Browns Rehabilitation Center and Regency SouthernCare Hospice for their excellent care. Graveside services will be held 3 pm, Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Union Cemetery in Springfield, Georgia.
