    A Life Story

Celebrating the Life of Destiny-Faith Michaela McLeod Clyo, GA — With deeply heavy hearts, we share that Destiny-Faith Michaela McLeod, 20, passed away on August 4, 2026, following injuries from a car accident. Born in Valdosta on July 6, 2006, Destiny spent her life filling the world with music. A proud 2024 graduate of E.C.H.S., she shared her beautiful voice in the school chorus and brought energy to the marching band. Her musical journey took her from the School of Rock Band at Pladd Dot Music in Statesboro to the halls of Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus, where she was currently studying at the Fred & Dinah Gretsch School of Music. Destiny was an exceptionally gifted musician whose talent knew few bounds; she played the piano, clarinet, flute, electric guitar, and acoustic guitar with effortless grace. Beyond her music, her heart belonged to her family—especially her adored nieces and nephews—and her love for animals. Her vibrant spirit will be forever cherished by her parents, Barbara & Chris Brown; her siblings, Heather Kiefhaber (Jen), Andrew McLeod (Samantha), and Jessika Phillips (J.R.); and her devoted fiancé, Matthew Wheeler. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, Logan, Jensen, Iris, Roscoe, Evelyn, Johnny, Jaycelynn, and Jaxson, alongside a large, loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. Service Details: • Visitation: Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. • Funeral Service: Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. • Location: Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel (2460 Hwy. 21 S., Rincon, GA 31326). • Burial: Interment will follow at Rincon Cemetery.
