A Life Story

Gerald Thigpen, 77, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 21, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Throughout his illness, Gerald showed incredible strength and determination, facing each day with bravery and resilience. Gerald was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Angie Johnson; his brother, Johnnie (Tammy) Thigpen; his son, Scott (Robin) Thigpen; his daughter, Tina Patnaude; his cherished grandchildren, Audrey Thigpen and Corey (Brittany) Patnaude; his great-grandchildren, Carter Patnaude and Cannon Patnaude; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be remembered for his kind heart, hardworking nature, and unwavering love for his family. An honored veteran, Gerald carried great pride in his service to his country. He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons, and he enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams throughout the years. Gerald had a special love for dogs and treasured the companionship and joy they brought to his life. Gerald spent his life working hard and providing for those he loved. His strength, loyalty, and dedication to family and friends will never be forgotten. In accordance with Gerald’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. A celebration of life for family and close friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a veterans charity of your choice in his honor.
