A Life Story
Glenda Edenfield Hankinson, 85, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025. Born in Savannah on June 18, 1939, Glenda lived a full and vibrant life. She worked for several companies throughout her career, including Certainteed, JGA, and Home Depot Distribution, where she retired in 2001.A dedicated member of Bull Street Baptist Church, Glenda was also an active participant in the Zonta Club, the Wilmington Island Garden Club, and a special group called "Who" – Women Helping Others. She had a passion for gardening, quilting, and cherishing time with her family and friends.She is survived by her son, Carl M. Sloan (Sandra W. Sloan), daughter, Rebecca L. Hancock (Calvin W. Hancock), and brother, Joe R. Edenfield (Rebecca L. Edenfield). Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Trey Hancock (Donna Hancock), Andrew Ball (Jesyca Ball), Daniel Hancock (Gretchen Hancock), Mason Sloan, and Aubrey Sloan. She was also adored by her great-grandchildren: Holly, Joseph, and Leah Hancock, Beauregard and Fitzgerald Ball, and Willamae and Wesley Hancock.Glenda will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the Fox & Weeks Islands Chapel. There will be a graveside service beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
