    A Life Story

    Mr. Jean Max Dorsinville, 86, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026. Jean will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Leslie B. Dorsinville; daughter and son-in-law, Natasha Watkins and Benjamin Watkins III; son, Dimitri Dorsinville; grandchildren, Benjamin Watkins IV and Nadia Watkins. Jean was born in Haiti, and had lived in Brooklin and New Jersey for many years before moving to Pooler in 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Fernande Dorsinville, as well as his brother, Max Dorsinville. He was a graduate of New York University and retired from New York Life Insurance. He was a very active member of both The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist and Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing soccer in high school and college, and was very passionate about politics. The memorial service to honor Jean’s life will be on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 10 a.m. at The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist located at 222 East Harris Street in Savannah, Georgia.
