A Life Story

Marilyn Parizek Reid (81) of Savannah, GA, passed away on March 8, 2025. Born in Iowa City, IA; Marilyn attended Regina High School and spent most of her adult life in Dallas, TX, before moving to Savannah to be near her daughter and youngest grandchildren.A devoted mother and grandmother, Marilyn was a dedicated teacher who excelled in working with preschool-age children. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of the Catholic Church in various parishes, including All Saints, St. Jude's, and Blessed Sacrament.Marilyn was married to her husband for 52 years, raising three children. Marilyn has seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as her loving children Gregory Reid (Janelle), Jeffrey Reid, Elizabeth Reid DeWitt (David). Her grandchildren include Jack, Madison, Caroline, Cooper, Mary Tarver Reid and Jasmine and Reid DeWitt. Marilyn's siblings are Bob and Diane Parizek and John Parizek; she was predeceased by Michael Parizek and Father Jim Parizek.Marilyn's legacy will be remembered through the countless lives she touched as a teacher, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.The funeral mass will be at Blessed Sacrament on April 5, 2025, at 11:00 am.The family suggests any remembrances be made in her memory to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
