A Life Story

Martha Lanier Mikell, age 92, of Savannah, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Born in Metter to the late Aubrey Lanier and Gladys Holloway Lanier, Mrs. Mikell lived a life grounded in faith, family, and love. She married Noel Lonnie Mikell Jr., and together they raised five daughters, nurturing them with devotion and a steadfast trust in the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Lonnie Mikell Jr.; her daughter, Vickie Steele; and her sisters, Betty Perkins and Linda Loury. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Mikell, Pam Stout, Darlene Saxon, and Teri Mikell. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, five great‑grandchildren, and two great‑great‑grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly and will miss her forever. A funeral service honoring her life will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel with Reverend Paul Hodge presiding. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey East, 1600 Wheaton St., Savannah, GA 31404.
