    A Life Story

    Michael Anthony Phillips Aug. 25, 1953 – July 26, 2026 Michael Anthony Phillips, 72, passed away July 26, 2026 at Candler Hospital. He was born on August 25, 1953 in Savannah, Georgia to Fred and Helen Phillips. Michael is preceded in death by his father Fred Phillips and step-son Kevin Sikes. Michael is survived by his wife, Heather Redd Phillips; his mother, Helen Phillips; his brother, Randy (Myra) Phillips; his daughters, Tiffany (Brian) Hentchel and Catherine Phillips; his son, Garrett (Brooke) Phillips; step-son, Christopher (Ashley) Vincent; granddaughters, EmmaJane Hentchel and Madelyn Hentchel; and nieces and great-nieces. The Chatham County native graduated from Groves High School in 1970. He spent over three decades in the Cabinetry and Construction Industry. He began in the family business, progressed through owning his own company, and managed businesses for others. He was a master carpenter and talented kitchen designer. His skill, creativity, and attention to detail were evident in everything he built. Michael valued his relationship with the Lord. He lived a life guided by his faith. He attended Central Baptist Church. He enjoyed studying the Bible and teaching others. He mentored boys in Royal Rangers for years, helping to mold them into Christlike men and servant leaders. Michael found joy in camping, building, and crafting. Whether through his work, his hobbies, or his ideas, he left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved and in the lives he shaped. Memorial Service: 11 am Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Central Baptist Church, 4010 Old Louisville Rd., Garden City, GA 31408.
