A Life Story

Ovella Mae Roberson, 91, passed away January 12, 2025. She was born on February 13, 1933, in Rock Bridge County, Virginia to the late Clarence S. and Irma Allen Booth. She graduated from Jefferson Senior High School, attended Arlington Baptist Seminary and was a former bookkeeper. She was a talented musician and assisted her husband in his ministry.Ovella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Jerry L. Roberson; her grandson, Aaron Lee Roberson and her brother, Sonny Booth.She is survived by her children, Dr. Mary R. Howell and husband Freddie, and Danny Roberson and his wife Kamee; her grandchildren, Jonathan Howell, PhD (Jennifer), Jeremy Howell (Michelle) and Austin Roberson, JD (Whitney); her great grandchildren, Evelyn Howell, Dawson Howell, Cooper Howell, Oscar Roberson, Wilber Roberson and Maribel Roberson; her sister, Earleene Childers and her sisters in law, Frances Fortier and Peggy Roberson; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Ovella will be at 10:30 am on Friday, January 17th, at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 16th from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
