A Life Story

Patricia Wallis Bishop passed away on October 9, 2024. She was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1935 in Atlanta, Georgia. Her parents, Stafford and Macie Wallis, raised their three daughters in College Park, Georgia. She met her husband Joseph Bishop when attending College Park High School. They were married after his graduation from the United States Military Academy in 1957.Patty became a Gold Star Wife in 1968 after Joe's death in Vietnam. She remained in the Atlanta area and raised her two children, Linda and Michael, there. She married Chuck Pitts in 1984 and together they moved to the Savannah area.She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents, Stafford and Macie Wallis and her son, Michael Bishop.Patty loved her family and did everything she could for each one of them.She is survived by her daughter, Linda Cramer and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Wallis, Kimberly (Fatih Soylemez) and Elle; her sister, Johnnie Ruth Brown; four nephews, Sidney, John & Kevin Kilgore, and Matthew Brown; a niece, Jennifer Brown.The family will receive friends 4:30 thru 6:30 in the evening on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, Georgia. Funeral Services will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel at 6:30 pm.Interment will be at 12 noon Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in Marietta National Cemetery, Marietta Georgia.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association in her memory.
