A Life Story

Peggy June Karacostas Zeigler, born on March 4, 1943, in Galveston, Texas, embarked on a remarkable journey through life. Her early years saw her moving to Savannah, Georgia, where she flourished as a spirited cheerleader at Jenkins High School. A dedicated scholar, Peggy continued her education at Wesleyan College and Armstrong College, laying a strong foundation for her future endeavors. Her professional path led her to the role of merchandising manager at Tandy Corporation (Radio Shack), where her dedication and leadership shone brightly. Peggy's passion for community engagement was evident in her roles as president of the Junior Women's Club, New Comer Club, and Garden Club in Gainesville, Florida—organizations that benefited greatly from her enthusiasm and commitment. A beloved wife to Robert Joseph Zeigler, Peggy found joy in her family, cherishing her son Robert Joseph Zeigler II and daughter-in-law Laura Kathleen Waters Zeigler. Her grandsons, Harrison James Zeigler and Preston Alexander Zeigler, were her pride and testament to her enduring love. She leaves behind cherished siblings—brother Dale Lawrence Karacostas, and sisters Susan Jane Scarberry, Linda Page Simmons, and Nancy Page Matson—as well as brother Ted Page III, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Peggy's legacy is one of love, dedication, and an unwavering spirit that touched all who knew her. Her memory will forever be a guiding light to her family and community.
