A Life Story

Susan “Susie” Dixon Sanderlin, a lifelong resident of Wilmington Island, Georgia, passed away on August 22, 2026. Born and raised in Savannah, Susie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was married to Michael Sanderlin for 47 years. Susie enjoyed cooking, crabbing, and needlepoint, and she treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Dixon, and her sister, Donna Rappe Schafer. Susie is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Hall and Renee (Lionel) Theron; grandchildren, Ben (Ciara) Hall, Ella Hall, Madelyn Theron, and Charlotte Theron; great-grandson, Griffin Hall; niece, Joy (John) Strickland; and nephew, Chris Rappe. A celebration of Susie’s life will be held at a later date. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
