A Life Story

Rincon – Wanda Hubbard Cratty, 80, passed away July 31, 2026 at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. The Alabama native was a longtime resident of Rincon, in her early years she had an in home daycare, attended Rincon Baptist Temple where she kept the nursery and later attended Effingham Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher. She retired from Effingham County Board of Education and later in life she and her husband owned/operated rental property. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching Rev. Charles Stanley on Sunday mornings. She had several family pets that were close to her over the years, including, Toby and Molly. She always was willing to lend a helping hand and to help others whom were less fortunate. Her greatest joy in life was her family and the many children she took care of and especially, her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Rogers Hubbard and Birdie Mozelle Rotton Hubbard; husband, Robert Colson Cratty, Sr.; her daughter, Beverley Irene Cratty McCraw; siblings, Gerald Rogers Hubbard, Hugh Gene Hubbard, Willo Dean Hinson, Haygood Wayne Hubbard, David Maxon Hubbard, Donald Ray Hubbard, and Patricia Ann McMinn. Survivors include her children, James Keith Cratty (Lisa), Roberta Dee Cratty Anderson (Guy), Robert Colson Cratty, Jr. (Lora), Kimberly Renee Cratty Duke (Michael), Patricia “Patti” Cratty Studier, Andrea Brooke Cratty Murphy (John-Patrick), and David Matthew Cratty; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, William Esley Hubbard and Howard Doyle Hubbard; and a number of nieces and nephews.
