    A Life Story

Anne Lewis Snider, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by her daughter and grandchildren on August 30, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in Claxton, Georgia on December 14, 1936, Anne was the oldest of the seven children of the late Walton and Eva Mae Lewis. She graduated from Claxton High School with the Class of 1954. After graduation, Anne moved to Savannah, Georgia, where she married the love of her life Billy Snider. Together, they built a loving family and raised two beautiful daughters, Ramona and Teresa. Anne retired from Great Dane Trailers after 23 years of dedicated service. She was an avid seamstress and loved crocheting, taking great pleasure in creating beautiful things for herself and those she loved. She also had a special love for travel, especially camping and taking cruises, and cherished the memories made along the way. Anne was a loyal friend and a woman of deep Christian faith. Anne was a long-time faithful member of the Sanctuary of Savannah Church. A prayer warrior who participated in her weekly Tuesday Prayer Group and Christian Women’s luncheons. Her faith was an important part of her life, and her prayers, kindness, and friendship touched the lives of many. Anne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Snider; daughter, Ramona Dianne Snider; parents, Walton and Eva Mae Lewis; brothers, James Lewis, Bobby Lewis, and David Lewis; and sister, Dean Moody. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Sandefur (Sandy); grandson, Adam Sandefur; granddaughter, Amy Picklesimer (Alex); and great-granddaughters, Maci and Madeline Picklesimer. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Lewis (Patricia); sister, Wanda Moseley Burkhalter (Gene); and several nieces and nephews. Anne will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her faithful spirit, generous heart, prayers, friendship, and the memories she created will remain a cherished part of the lives she touched. May she rest peacefully in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, knowing that her legacy of faith and love will continue through the generations. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406). Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens (315 Greenwich Road, Savannah, GA 31404). Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In honor of Anne and her love for flowers and gardening, we invite family and friends to fill the chapel with beautiful flowers. Let the flowers surrounding her be a reflection of the beauty she brought into the lives of those who knew and loved her.
