A Life Story

Annette Billings was born on February 17, 1944 in Port-Of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. Annette was a fun loving, generous and supportive daughter of Lucille and Rupert Gollop, who loved spending time with her family and friends. Annette immigrated to the U.S. as a young woman and worked at McKinsey & Co as an administrative assistant, for almost 20 years. She then relocated to Virginia to work at Congressional Quarterly, where she eventually became the Director of Human Resources until her retirement in 2010. Determined to get away from the cold weather in Virginia, Annette moved to Savannah, Georgia at the end of 2016. Here, she immersed herself in the arts, culture, and food. She was an active member of the National Black Journalists Association. Left to mourn her are: brother, Dexter Peters (Lisa); god-son, Shelton Warner (Karen); cousin, Karen Moore; cousin, Roland Hackett; niece, Trinity Peters; nephew, Mayborn Peters & a multitude of friends.In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: St Labre Indian School or Habitat for Humanity Hopebuilders.
