    A Life Story

    Cecilia DeBorde, 82, a native Savannahian, passed away in Midway, Monday, December 9, 2024. She was a born February 2, 1942, daughter of the late Richard John Gavin and Cecilia Fitzpatrick Gavin, and was preceded in death by her husband of 60, years, Richard John DeBorde, a grandson, Jimmy Stephenson, and a sister, Patty Marx.She was a member of Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, and she was one of 12 charter members of the Daughters of Ireland. She retired as a X Ray technician after 60, plus years. She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed art and crafts, making stained glass, crabbing, and adored her pet cats. She is survived by her children, James (Jimmy) DeBorde (Lisa) and Veronica DeBorde (Jeff); grandchildren, Christina Peltier (James), Joshua Peltier (Julie), Benjamin DeBorde (Michelle); two great-granddaughters, Jenna Peltier and Bex Peltier; sisters, Peggy Fountain and Kathleen Willingham, and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 13th, followed by an 11:00 a.m. memorial service at Fox & Weeks Islands Chapel. Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery.
