    A Life Story

    Jean Cagle Adams, a beloved resident of Savannah, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on May 3rd, 1936, in Gladewater, TX, Jean led a life rich in love, service, and dedication to her family and country.Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Washington Cagle and Beatrice Smith Cagle, her devoted husband, Dewey McKinley (Ken) Adams, and her siblings, Barry Cagle, Ann Houghton, Virginia Lee, Jane Little, and JW (Bucky) Cagle. Her legacy of strength and kindness continues through her loving children, Debra Griffin and Stephen Scott, her cherished grandchildren, Curtis and Ian Pro, and other family and friends.As a strong patriot who loved America, Jean proudly served her country for one year as a member of the US Air Force. Jean then traveled the world as a wife and mother, supporting her husband who was an Air Force pilot. After raising her children, Jean went on to earn a master's degree in Political Science which led to an illustrious and fulfilling career as Director of RCI Housing at Fort Stewart, GA. Her dedication to her work and her colleagues was evident in every aspect of her professional life.Beyond her career, Jean was a pillar of her community and a valued member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Savannah, GA. She gave generously of her time and talents, and her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. To all who knew and loved her, her love and loyalty to God, family, and country can be summed up well by a quote from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream: Though she be but little, she is fierce.A celebration of Jean's life will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 1:00pm in St. George's Episcopal Church, with light reception to follow.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jean's memory to St. George's Episcopal Church, located at 15 Willow Rd, Savannah, GA 31419.Jean Cagle Adams will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family and community.
