A Life Story

Eva Ann Foss, 92, of Savannah, Georgia, wife of the late Denson Breton Foss, died Monday evening, August 17, 2026 at her home. Born in Liberty, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Edward Swain and the late Gladys Kilpatrick Swain. Mrs. Foss was a member of Savannah First Seventh-Day Adventist Church and retired after 27 years of service as a credit supervisor for Atlanta Gas Light Company. She later worked at Mock Construction for nine years. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory “Greg” Breton Foss. Surviving are three daughters, Terry Carol Foss of Brooklet, Georgia, Valerie Foss Ryan and her husband Chris, of St. Marys, Georgia and Melanie Foss Mokray of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Hannah Stovall Foss of Lawrenceville, Georgia; three grandchildren, Carol Newsom, Connor Maxwell Foss, and Jake Christopher Ryan; two great- grandchildren, Ethan Newsom and Montgomery Newsom. The family will receive friends from 4 o’clock until 6 o’clock in the evening, Friday, August 28, 2026, at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah. The funeral service will be held at 10 o’clock in the morning, Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Savannah.
