A Life Story

Born in 1928 to Aubrey and Eoline Sessoms of Savannah, Eva spent her childhood in Savannah and in St Augustine FL. She graduated from Savannah High School and later Georgia State University during one of her several times living in Atlanta. Eva was married to William Price Conners of Savannah, whose active career moved them around the country every few years, and included stays in Jacksonville, Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, St Louis, Philadelphia, and Oklahoma City. During those busy years Eva raised four active children, entertained gracefully, enjoyed a number of artistic hobbies, and joined bridge clubs in each new neighborhood. Eva and Bill retired to Skidaway Island in 1979, where Eva continued to sew, paint, play bridge, and make new friends. Eva moved to Savannah Square in 2015, where she was known for her charming southern manners and sharp bridge skills well into her 90s. Eva is survived by her children William P. Conners Jr. of Brunswick ME, Thomas Conners of Melbourne Beach FL, and Elizabeth Conners of Corvallis OR; and by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She passed quietly in her sleep on December 31st.A brief service will be held at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home at 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive in Savannah on Tuesday, January 7th. Viewing will be from 11:00am to 12:00pm, with services at 12:00pm.
