A Life Story

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Frieda L. Dixon, who left this world peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the age of 94. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of so many.Born on October 21, 1930 in Reidsville, Georgia, Frieda lived a life of grace, resilience, and compassion. She dedicated herself to her family, always offering love, wisdom, and support. Whether through her gentle words, warm embraces, or the cherished traditions she passed down, she created a legacy of love that will endure for generations.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James William Dixon; daughter, Janice Leigh O'Connell; son, James Michael Dixon; grandson; Shawn Morris and two brothers.She leaves behind her son-in-law, Michael O'Connell; grandchildren, Matthew O'Connell, and Erin Dixon; and great grandchildren, Nathanial O'Connell, Austin O'Connell, and Azalyn Borca, who will forever hold her in their hearts.A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Reidsville City Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Humane Society for Greater Savannah in her memory.Frieda will be deeply missed, but her spirit, love, and lessons will continue to shine in the lives of those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
