A Life Story

George Russell Nutter, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on February 4, 2025, under the loving care of his wife, Donna, and Hospice Savannah. He was born on July 28, 1948, in Metter, Georgia, to the late Bernard Parker Nutter and Dora Hendrix Nutter. George later moved to Richmond Hill, Georgia, to be near the coast, where he embraced his love for fishing and the coastal lifestyle. George proudly served in the National Guard and was the owner and operator of South Coastal Water Co. He was of the Baptist faith and found great joy in fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his brother, Arnold Nutter.He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Donna; his children, George Nutter Jr., Ryan Nutter (Tiffany), Russell Nutter, and Suzanne Bolden; his beloved grandchildren, Jake Nutter and Reagan Nutter; his sister, Joyce Lewis of Baxley, Georgia; and his brother-in-law, Neil Summerlin of Richmond Hill.The family will receive friends on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.) beginning at 10:00 until just prior to the service. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 in the chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in George's memory to Hospice Savannah.
