    A Life Story

    John "Edgar" Rahn, 81, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 23rd, 2024 after a year's long battle with cancer.Edgar proudly served in the United States Navy and was a general contractor until his retirement. In his later life, he was an avid gardener, guitar picker, collector of anything, and knower of all things. He was always learning a new skill. He could often be found playing guitar at the kitchen table, painting, or researching genealogy. In his last years, his pride and joy was his great-grandson, William "Fox" Rahn.He is survived by the love of his life, Margaret Ellen Rahn, his children: Cherrie Rahn and John "Eddie" Rahn Jr.; his grandchildren: Austin Rahn (Lindsay) and Anna Kellam; his great-grandson: William Fox Rahn; his brother: Bruce Thomas Rahn (Sissy); his sister Brenda Rahn Waters (Billy); his sister-in-law, Barbara Rahn; and many nieces and nephews.Edgar was preceded in death by his father: Louis Rahn; his mother, Ruby Hendricks Rahn; and brother Louis Alfred Rahn Jr.A graveside service will take place at Bonaventure Cemetery on Thursday, August 29th, 2024 at 10:00 am with Pastor Kelly McInerney presiding.
