A Life Story

Teresa "Terry" Smith, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 24th, 2024 at the age of 66. She was born in Savannah on June 18th, 1958 to Jerry Bennett, Sr. and Joan Bennett.Terry was a retired Deputy Sheriff from the Chatham County Sheriff's Department in Savannah, Georgia. She was a dedicated employee who served her community with pride.Her happiest times were traveling with her late husband to Tennessee and Alabama. She loved attending dances and social events with Smitty at the American Legion. After his passing she spent most of her time caring for her mother and animals.Terry is survived by her loving children, Amy Childers (Jeff), Ali Reagan (Rob), Kyle Cudebec (Elizabeth), stepson, Will Smith (Felicia), her mother, Joan Bennett, grandchildren, Ayden Childers, Talen Childers, Haysten Childers, Logan Parker, Emily Cudebec, and Kolton Cudebec, her brother, Jerry "Bo" Bennett, Jr., as well as other family and friends.She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Smitty" Smith, father, Jerry Bennett, Sr., and her granddaughter, Tinly Childers.There will be no funeral gathering, however a memorial service will be held at a later date.
