A Life Story
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Leragee C. Harris, who departed this life on Friday, August 28th, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on a warm Wednesday, August 6th, 1930, Leragee was a cherished resident of Savannah, Georgia, for many decades. She served as an office manager at Independent Life Insurance, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. Leragee’s creativity knew no bounds. As a talented artist, she expressed her love of the world through painting and working with ceramics. She found joy and solace in the pages of countless books, her love for reading underpinning her curious and vibrant spirit. Left to honor her memory and carry forward her legacy are her beloved son, Reggie Harris, and his wife Elaine; her treasured grandson, Matthew Harris, and his wife Linda; and her adored granddaughter, Michelle Hitchcock, and her husband Andrew. Leragee also leaves behind six beautiful great-granddaughters who brought immense joy to her life. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel in Garden City, Georgia. A funeral service to celebrate Leragee’s remarkable life will be held at the Chapel In the Gardens on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026, at 11:00 am. Arrangements have been thoughtfully provided by Baker McCullough Funeral Home-Garden City Chapel. Though she may no longer be with us in physical form, Leragee will forever remain in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of her family and all who had the privilege of being part of her journey.
