    A Life Story

    Linda Blackstock Croom died on May 12, 2026 at home. She was born in Calhoun, GA on October 28th , 1942; daughter of the late Robert Euell and Vista Smith Blackstock. Surviving are: one son, The Reverend Dr. Walter Andrew Corbett; grandson, Luke Corbett of Athens and granddaughter Abigail Ruth Corbett of Richmond Hill. Linda attended Shorter College in Rome, Georgia and the University of North Carolina in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was employed by the Hanover School System for four years and the Chatham County School System for 31 years. Linda was selected as the Teacher of the Year at White Bluff Elementary. She was a dedicated member of White Bluff Methodist Church. Many thanks to Andrea and Brandi form Seniors Helping Seniors. Your care and compassion were unparalleled. Friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 1 o'clock until 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah. Funeral service will follow at 2 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow services in Greenwich Cemetery.
