    A Life Story

Mrs. Margie F. Johnson, 83 of Ellabell, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 at her home. Margie was born in Metter, but lived in Ellabell for most of her life. She was a long-time, faithful member of Sand Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time in her yard, tending to her flowers. Traveling wasn't a big part of Margie's life, but in later years, the "Three Amigos" (Margie, Gary, and Debbie) began an annual travel tradition of driving through the mountains of North Georgia, renting a cabin, and enjoying each other's company. She will be remembered as happily content, always wearing a smile, and as a child of God. Her love will live on in our hearts until we meet her again. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Eloise Bland Miles, her husband, Heber Johnson, daughter, Brenda Scott, and brother, Elliot Miles. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Cook (Jeff) son, Gary Johnson, grandchildren, Dana Travis (Terry) and Christina Rybin (Daniil), nine great-grandchildren, and her faithful sister Minnie Stokes who had a special bond with Margie. They shared memories as only sisters can and gained strength from each other. The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Savannah who lovingly cared for Margie. Their care of both patient and family was so compassionate and were invaluable guides through this difficult journey. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Sand Hill Baptist Church located at 1936 Sand Hill Road, Guyton, Georgia. The celebration of Margie's life will follow immediately after visitation at 11 a.m.. Interment will follow at Lake Cemetery in Metter, Georgia at 2 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Sandhill Baptist Church, 1936 Sand Hill Rd, Guyton, GA 31312 or Hospice Savannah, 1352 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Homes-WEST CHATHAM CHAPEL (912) 748-2444.
