A Life Story
Michael Natale Sottile was the patriarch of the Sottile family of Savannah. His very essence was defined by Faith and Reason. He was a lifelong learner, leader, husband, father, founder, and friend to so many.He entered this world in 1936 and his vigorous life spanned nearly 90 years. Of Sicilian heritage, both of his parents were born in Castelbuono, Sicily. This heritage created a lifetime traversing between the United States and Italy, from New York, to St Augustine, Savannah, Castelbuono, and Florence, Italy.He dedicated his life to the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. He sought to create magic and believed in the role of leisure as the basis of culture. He joyfully centered his energies on designing lifestyle, meaningful conversation, continuously teaching and learning, writing, challenging, and communicating with the world.His love for Holy Mother Church was formed early and developed throughout his lifetime. He saw family as the true foundation of society and aspired to its highest expression in the pursuit of dynasty. The family that he formed now includes 25 immediate relatives, including his beloved wife, Valerie, his soul mate of 54 years, and their six children, their spouses, and their children and grandchildren.Michael Natale Sottile was truly defined by both faith and reason, grounded in the eternal truths of Holy Mother Church.
