Robert E. Lee "Bob" Morgan, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 23, 2024 at his home.Bob was Born on February 26, 1934 to loving parents, William James Morgan and Henrietta Morgan.Bob is preceded in death by his brothers, William James and Harry Earl (Ted) Morgan.Bob is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley; children, Robert (Ann) , Andrew (Jodi); grandchildren, Rachel and Savannah; and brother, Howard Morgan.Bob spent much of his childhood and early years in Greensboro, NC and Memphis, TN where he met his wife. He obtained his undergraduate and masters degrees at Memphis State University. The couple moved to Savannah in 1967 where Bob took a position as a professor at Armstrong State College, and retired from his role in 1995.Bob loved spending time with Shirley traveling to the Smokey Mountains and Memphis, among other locations. For many years, he enjoyed shooting skeet and trap at the local gun club. He was a dedicated father and husband, and his generosity was immense.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Internment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, TN.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Robert E. Lee Morgan Scholarship Fund at Georgia Southern University.
