    A Life Story

    Thomas Everett Goethe, age 79, of Savannah entered Heaven on Tuesday, February 12, 2025 after a long illness and under Hospice Care.Mr. Goethe was born on December 12, 1945 in Savannah to the late James Sweat Goethe, Sr. and the late Mabel Jackson Goethe. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a current member of Bible Baptist Church and a former member of Calvary Baptist Temple, where he served at both churches as Sunday School teacher and deacon. He was a graduate of Savannah High School, served in the United States Air Force in Darmstadt, Germany during the Vietnam Conflict, and was a graduate of Armstrong State College with a BBA Management. He worked the majority of his adult years as a salesman traveling the Southeast US for a national sales company. In his later years, he became a realtor in 2003 and then a broker in 2005. He loved working with people. During his lifetime, he was a Shriner in the Flag Unit of the Alee Temple and he enjoyed boating, fishing, RVing, and most importantly spending time with his family. His favorite role was Grandaddy.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Samuel "Jimmy" Goethe and his step-father Nathaniel E. Fries.Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Judith Kaye Fields Goethe; a daughter, Rachel (Todd) McGalliard; a son, Everett N. Goethe both of Savannah; five grandchildren, Nathaniel F. McGalliard, Abigail K. McGalliard, Noah T. McGalliard, Michael G. McGalliard, and Elizabeth A. McGalliard; sister in law, Jackie Fields of Statesboro; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 10 o'clock at Bible Baptist Church (4700 Skidaway Rd. Savannah, GA 31404) with the funeral service to follow at 11 o'clock at Bible Baptist Church.Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey East (1600 Wheaton St. Savannah, GA 31404).Active pallbearers will be Todd McGalliard, Nathaniel McGalliard, Noah McGalliard, Michael McGalliard, Jimmy Goethe, and Edward Goethe.Honorary pallbearer will be his son, Everett Goethe.In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice Savannah (1352 Eisenhower Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
