A Life Story
Carl Wesley Sapp (82), born June 21st 1942 in Ohoopee Georgia, passed away Feb 13th 2025 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia after a short illness. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Betty Fox, who he loved dearly. He and Betty found each other late in life and were madly in love. They did everything together and were rarely ever apart. He was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Ferraro Sapp, son Stanley Sapp, and brothers Johnny and Jimmy Sapp. Carl served in the Navy as a Quartermaster third class from October 11th, 1960 and honorably retired from service July 31st, 1963. Carl raised his family in Savannah and worked at Derst Bakery for many years, until he retired in 2005. Carl was a constant jokester and always had a joke to tell you every time you would talk to him. He never met a stranger, and made friends easily. He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind his sons and daughters-in-law, Carl Wesley Sapp Jr. and Steffanie, Keith Williams Sapp and Eleanor; Daughter, Laura Ann Sapp; brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Charlie) Marshall Sapp and Anne; step-daughters Teresa Fox Barker (Ray), Tammie Fox Brinkley-Clearo (Joe) and Terrilynn Fox. He leaves behind his grandchildren Colson Sapp, Ashley Sapp, Jeffrey Roberts, Mary Roberts and Paige Roberts, Christopher Barker, Shane Barker, Heather Fox, Buddy Brinkley, Casey Brinkley, Ben Brinkley; Christy Mullen and Debbie Brinkley; niece, Michelle Weeks and husband Michael; nephews, Marshall Sapp and wife Belinda, Matthew Sapp and wife Shannon; several great grandchildren, and many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Humane Society of Greater Savannah in his memory.
