A Life Story

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald T. Lowder, who left this world on February 14, 2025. Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, on February 27, 1941, Ron made Savannah his home, where he embraced life's many chapters with resilience and dedication.A proud veteran, Ron honorably served his country for 22 years in the military, demonstrating unwavering commitment and courage. His service took him to many places, but he especially loved sharing stories about his time in Kodiak, Alaska, and the experiences he had throughout his military career. After retiring from the military, he continued his hardworking nature at Industrial Tractor, where he took pride in his work.His greatest joy was his family, and he leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandra Lowder, and his children: Barbara Lowder, Cheryl Kordes (Scott Kordes), Charlene Collins (Waldo Domaines), and Sandi Rivers (Quintin Rivers Jr.). He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Lowder. Ron and Steve shared a special bond, often exchanging smirks before breaking into laughter. They were true partners in crime, always finding ways to stir up a little mischief and fun. Now, they are reunited once again, no doubt sharing another knowing glance and a chuckle.He was a cherished grandfather to Tracey Collins, Dustin Collins (Shalea Collins), Chance Bradlau, Katy Rodriguez (Arturo Rodriguez), Christopher Kordes (Amberly Kordes), Joe Kordes (Alexis Render), Quintin Rivers III, Katelyn Rivers, Harlee Lowder, and Michael Lowder. He was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Connor Kordes, Emma Kordes, Addie Kordes, Lucas Rodriguez, Cooper Kordes, Gracie Rodriguez, Jack Kordes, Harper Henderson, and Sanaiyah Lewis.Ron had a passion for cooking and took pride in making meals for his loved ones. His favorite dish to prepare was German potato salad, a recipe he perfected over the years and enjoyed sharing with family and friends.Ron may not have always found it easy to express his feelings, but those who knew him understood his love was steady and true. When his wife would say, "I love you," he'd respond with a simple but heartfelt, "Ditto, babe." It is fitting that he passed on Valentine's Day, forever linking his memory to a time meant for love-something he showed in his own way.Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of service, dedication, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His memory will be cherished, his wisdom remembered, and his presence deeply missed.Ron will be cremated, and a funeral service to honor and celebrate his life will be planned at a later date.
