A Life Story

Thomas Edwin Mitchell, Jr. 78, of Savannah, Georgia died Saturday February 15, 2025. He was born May 22, 1946, in Burlington, North Carolina to the late Thomas Edwin Mitchell and the late Ila Mae Jones Mitchell.He was a US Navy veteran and retired in 2016, after 40 years as a manager with K-Mart Department Stores. Edwin was an avid golfer and photographer.Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Drayton and a brother, Wayne.Surviving are: his wife, of 50 years, Deborah Sue Mitchell; two sons, Cory Mitchell and his wife, Dallas Gardner-Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, and wife, Breanna; four grandchildren, Cohen, Porter, Waylen and Sagan; a sister, Ann Phillips; nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 11 o'clock until 12 noon at White Bluff Methodist Church, 11911 White Bluff Road, Savannah, Georgia. Thomas's memorial service will follow at 12 noon. Reverend Dr. Barry Giddens will officiate.
