A Life Story

Barbara Sue Blue Allen, 89, of Savannah, GA, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024.She was born on February 22, 1935 in Savannah, GA to the late Jim and Lucile Blue. She was a member of Higher Ground (formally Cresthill) Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and kept the nursery. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her faith and her love of sewing and gardening.Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Brother Allen; her daughter, Cynthia Shepherd; her brothers, Jimmy Blue, Charles Blue, Franklin Blue, and Danny Blue and her sister, Mary Blue LaPorte.She is survived by her son, Jeff Allen (Jennifer) of Atlanta, GA; her daughters, Jackie (Dennis) Rust of Guyton, GA, Susan Philbrook of Blanco, TX and Jennifer Allen of Savannah, GA; a sister, Sarah Blue-Gonzalez of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406. The Funeral Service will follow and begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Dusty Reynolds officiating. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Abbey East.
