    A Life Story

    James Boyce Dunn, 88 of Garden City, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024 at Pruitt Seaside.He was born in Savannah, Georgia and had lived in Garden City for 59 years.He was born on September 20, 1936, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City, GA for 50 years, where he was in the Timothy Sunday School Class and served as a Deacon for many years.Boyce worked at Hercules Inc. for 30 + years as a Lab Technician. He also served in the Air National Guard unit 283rd. He retired as Master Sargent.In his free time he enjoyed fishing and shrimping at his place on the Jericho River. After retirement, he took a gardening course and made sure that he always had something blooming in the yard year-round. He was an avid knife collector. He would go to yard sales and the flea market to get any type of knives, bring them home and oil, sharpen and clean them up as his hobby.He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley A. Dunn and son, James David Dunn.He is survived by his daughter, Angela Key (Allan Higgs) of Bloomingdale, GA; a grandson, Jeremy Edwards of Bloomingdale, GA; two great grandchildren, Bryce Edwards and Mallory Fowler; his brother-in-law, Larry Hendricks (Marie Hendricks) and several cousins.Visitation – 1 pm Wednesday, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel. Funeral Services – 2 pm Wednesday, in the chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home, with Randall Frantz officiating.
