A Life Story

Lyn Little McCuen ("Honey") passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, at Hospice Savannah, surrounded by the love of her family, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Lyn was born on July 1, 1959, in Athens, Georgia, to Pat and Sally Little. When she was 11 years old, her family moved to Savannah, a city she proudly called home for the rest of her life. Although she was not born in Savannah, she was always quick to point out that her ancestors were among the 112 passengers aboard the Queen Anne who arrived in Georgia with General James Oglethorpe. Lyn graduated from Savannah Christian Preparatory School a year early and attended Armstrong State College, where she was a Little Sister for the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Throughout her life, Lyn was deeply committed to serving her community. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader, a former member of the Junior League of Savannah, and served as President of Community Children's Theatre. She also founded and served as President of the Special Needs Puppetry Program, Kids on the Block, through Memorial Medical Center. For several years, she also shared her love of Savannah as a Historic Savannah tour guide. Lyn was a dedicated board member of Lindsey's Place and Abilities Unlimited, organizations that serve the special needs community in Savannah. She also chaired the highly successful Lawyers, Guns & Money Charity Clay Shoot for many years, raising funds to benefit Abilities Unlimited. She was also a proud member of the Lowcountry Annie Oakleys. In 1997, Lyn began what would become a long and successful career in real estate. She built lasting relationships with her clients, who often became lifelong friends, and in later years found great joy in mentoring new agents entering the profession. She was a proud member of the Savannah Area Realtors for 29 years. More than anything, Lyn cherished time with her family and friends. She loved traveling, boating, spending time at Tybee Island and the family farm, clay shooting, and taking late afternoon golf cart rides. Her personality was larger than life, and her radiant smile, accompanied by the unmistakable twinkle in her eye, could light up any room. She loved generously, laughed often, and was deeply loved by all who knew her. Lyn is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 47 years, Wip McCuen; her daughter, Kristen McAdams (John); her son, Mac McCuen; her cherished grandsons, Jack, Lee, and Will McAdams; her brother, David Little; her sister, Laura Sherman; and countless extended family members, dear friends, and others whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her. In lieu of flowers, Lyn requested that memorial donations be made to Abilities Unlimited, Breast Cancer Research, Nurse Navigators, or a favorite charity of your choice.
