    A Life Story

    Mr. Robert John Livingston, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and community leader, passed away peacefully on January 25th at the age of 82.Born on October 22, 1942, Bob grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin and pursued a distinguished academic career. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of Wisconsin and a master's degree in business education from Xavier University.Bob married the love of his life, Augusta, in December 1985, and together they shared 39 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion. He is survived by his three children: Steven L. Livingston (wife Antanina) of Los Angeles, Michael V. Livingston of Chattanooga, and Lori Simmons (husband Ralph) of Jacksonville. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren: Anna Livingston, Addison Livingston, Amelia Livingston, Aidan Simmons, Corey Simmons, and Dyllan Simmons. Bob is also survived by his sister, Mary Kaye Fulcer of Appleton, Wisconsin, as his nephew Joe Kelly (Amy) and other cherished nieces and nephews.Bob had a remarkable career spanning over 40 years in financial management, human resources, purchasing, and customer service. He held leadership roles with several Fortune 500 companies, including serving as Vice President and CFO for Magic Chef Air Conditioning in Columbus, Ohio; Hollytex Carpet in Anadarko, Oklahoma; and Mannington Carpets in Calhoun, Georgia. Bob served as CFO for American Weavers in Calhoun, Georgia, where he oversaw banking relationships, accounting, human resources, and customer service. After they were purchased by Mohawk Industries Bob continued to work as a Vice President and then retired. Beyond his professional achievements, Bob was a dedicated educator, serving as a part-time instructor at Dalton State College and Coosa Valley Technical College. He also worked as a part-time bookkeeper for the Teachers Union in Savannah, Georgia.Bob believed deeply in giving back to his community. He served as a United Way of Gordon County board member and co-chaired a campaign with his wife, Augusta. He was a Sunday school teacher, Boy Scout leader, and tutor for refugee children through Lutheran Ministries in Savannah. He also volunteered his time reading to and assisting first-grade students at May Howard Elementary School.A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM, visitation with family will start prior to service at 10:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Following the service, his ashes will be laid to rest at Lutheran Memorial Gardens Columbarium.Bob's life was a testament to faith, family, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.In lieu of Flowers donations can be made to Coastal Pet Rescue.
