A Life Story
Laura Cope Sweat, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born on November 17, 1943, in Savannah, GA to the late James R. Sweat, Sr., and Mary Cope Sweat. Laura was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church and worked in retail sales for many years. She is survived by her brother, James R. Sweat, Jr. of Roswell, GA, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service in Bonaventure Cemetery will be held at a later date by the family.
